In business there is usually a sharp divide between entrepreneurs and
corporate men, the former being maverick risk-takers, the latter more
like corridor politicans skilled at hacking their way up the ladder, but
reluctant to take risks or put themselves on the line. Eddie Bentwater is
one of the few who straddle this divide. He originally made his fortune
with his smash success software company "INTERN", and since selling
his interests, has been at the helm of Emidor, the music and publishing
giant, for the past two decades.
In recent months, Eddie has begun to toy with the idea of slimming
down his empire, giving rise to rumours of a demerger. Eddie has
slated a preliminary meeting with his trusted advisers to discuss
possible options.
